-is so much better, it isn't funny. I'm sorry if I offend anyone, but it is scientifically impossible to add Duane Allman, the Mussel Shoals Swampers, and more Soul than an Aretha Franklin tribute band to a song and NOT improve it.
Recorded in the Mussel Shoals FAME Studio.

good I actually dislike the Beatles studio version due to the amount of times I have heard it. Wilson was the damn man. Here, have some Staples singers rocking "the Weight" for posting this

I always have a hard time with Beatles remakes. But this works. Better? Not to me. But it is good in a different kind of way. At least it doesn't drag on 4 minutes longer than it has to.

Glad someone else was. He was indeed the man. And God, those horns. Never since 'Rocks Off' have I listened to a horn section that's better placed.

Can't argue with any of that. Overton Berry did my favorite instrumental version:

Wilson Pickett is great. I have Land of 1,000 Dances as the ringer on my phone.
But the best thing Wilson Pickett has ever done is when he says "listen chillllren " on It's Too Late.

usually for my Beatles covers needs I go simplistic and stick with Richie Havens, because another type of soul. Man that whole production on this version is great though. Havent heard it for a good long time

" 'Better? Not to me.' "
I'm sorry, I can't hear your claims of non-superiority over those FREAKIN' HORNS!

I know, right? How did the Beatles find the confidence to go on after Pickett, Cocker, and many others showed them how much better it could be done?

It's brilliant. Sets the tone for all the rest of 'Exile'.
